Shortcuts by function

To view or change keyboard shortcuts

In Keyboard Options, type a shortcut for a key.

Rhino menus list the default keyboard shortcuts. If you change a command to a different shortcut, the menus do not update to reflect this change.

Many of these shortcuts can be changed and you can add new shortcuts and aliases.

Navigation shortcuts

Right mouse free drag

Rotate (tumble) perspective views.

Pan parallel views.

Shift + Right mouse free drag

Press Shift to constrain to view rotation to horizontal or vertical.

The direction is determined by the relative location of the cursor to the point where the right mouse button was pressed down. If the cursor is more to the left or right than up or down, the rotation is locked horizontally, and vice versa.

Mouse wheel (Wheel)

Zoom view in/out.

Mouse wheel (Click)

Pop up toolbar.

Ctrl + Tab

Next viewport active.

Ctrl + PageDn

Pan view out.

Ctrl + PageUp

Pan view in.

Alt + Right mouse drag up and down

Pan view in/out.

Alt + Mouse wheel

Pan view in/out.

Shift +

Pan any view.

Ctrl + Right mouse up and down drag

Zoom view in/out.

Shift + Alt + Right mouse drag up and down

TiltView.

Ctrl + Shift + PageDn

TiltView right.

Adjust camera lens length in a perspective view.

Adjust camera lens length in a perspective view (toward telephoto).

In addition, press Shift to lock the camera rotation horizontally or vertically.

Release Ctrl or Shift while rotating, and then press Shift again to lock the direction.

Selection

Left mouse click

Add object to selection.

Shift + Window or crossing selection

Add crossed / windowed objects to selection.

Ctrl + Shift + Click left mouse button

Select polysurface/surface faces, edges, boundaries, mesh faces or edges, and objects within groups.

Ctrl + Left mouse click

Remove object from selection.

Ctrl + Window or crossing selection

Remove crossed / windowed objects from selection.

Toolbars

Ctrl	Press Ctrl while dragging a toolbar to prevent toolbar docking.
