The Properties command manages object properties for the selected objects. The properties specific to the selected objects display buttons for their properties. For example, if a curve is selected, in addition to the Object properties, the curve piping properties button displays. If no objects are selected, viewport properties display.

The Object settings may vary depending on the type of object selected.
The object type: curve, surface, polysurface, block name, etc. displays.
Object names are stored in the Rhino .3dm file and exported to file formats that accept object names.
To change the object's layers, select a layer from the list. Layers can be created, and their properties can be changed in the Layer dialog box.
The color of the object can either inherit the color of its layer or be set as an object property.
Uses the display color of the object's layer.
This option is only useful when creating blocks.
If an object's properties are By Parent, the object will continue to draw as if set to By Layer. However, when the object is part of a block, it takes on the properties of the block instance (layer or property).
Uses a specified color.
Specifies the linetype for the object
Uses the linetype of the object's layer.
This option is only useful when creating blocks.

Prints using the display color.
Prints using the layer color.

Display
Turns custom mesh settings on and off.
Adjusts mesh settings to control the object mesh density.
Turns on the display of isoparametric curves on surfaces and polysurfaces.
Defines the number of isoparametric curves Rhino draws on the surface.

Material
Uses the display color of the object's layer.
The layer's material properties display.

Uses a specified material.
The object material displays.

Texture Mapping
Expands the Texture Mapping settings.

Set the properties of the selected object to match properties of another object in the model.

The Details option displays technical information about the object displays.
