ComputeVertexColors

The ComputeVertexColors command evaluates the color of the texture at each texture coordinate (u,v) and sets the vertex color to the corresponding color.

  • The color of a mesh that is derived from a texture becomes part of the geometry.
  • Material textures can be turned off or changed, but vertex colors cannot.

Steps

  • Select a mesh with a texture map assigned.

    You will not see any difference on the mesh object in the Rendered display mode because the texture in the current material overrides the vertex colors.
