The Shade command temporarily shades the viewport.
Steps
- Specify shade settings.
- Click in the viewport, press Esc, or start another command to cancel the shaded view.
Command-line options
DisplayMode
Changes the display mode to Shaded, Rendered, Ghosted, XRay, Technical, Artistic, Pen, Monochrome, Arctic, or Raytraced with the current command-line option applied.

In the Shade command, switching the viewport to a display mode not supported by the DisplayMode option, e.g., Wireframe, cancels the Shade command.
DrawCurves
Displays curve objects.
DrawCurves
Displays isoparametric curves and edges.
DrawGrid
Displays the construction plane grid.
DrawAxes
Displays the construction plane axes.

View Shade Selected Objects Only |
The ShadeSelected command toggles the ShadeSelected mode. When the ShadeSelected mode is on, in any shaded kind of display mode, objects will only be shaded when they are selected. When isocurves and edges are turned off (i.e., the Rendered mode), you will not see anything until you select something.
