The PackTextures command controls how textures are displayed on an object.
Packed texture space will display a portion of the entire image texture used in a material on each surface in a polysurface.
Think of a box-shaped polysurface with a checker texture applied to the color channel of its material. Each of the six faces will display a separate portion of the checker texture if the texture space is packed. This is the default setting for polysurfaces in Rhino.

The UnpackTextures command unpacks the textures of selected polysurfaces.
UnpackTextures will display the entire image texture used in the material on each surface in a polysurface. In the box‑shaped polysurface example, each of the six faces would display the checker image texture fully.
