Navisworks (.nwd, .nwc) Export

Rhino supports exporting models to Autodesk Navisworks file formats, including Navisworks Database (.nwd) and Navisworks Cache (.nwc). These formats are widely used in architecture, engineering, and construction workflows to coordinate and review models from multiple design applications within a single project environment.

To export a Navisworks file

  1. On the File menu, select Export Selected or Save As.

  2. In the file type list, select one of the Navisworks formats:

    Navisworks 2016 Database (*.nwd)

    Navisworks 2026 Database (*.nwd)

    Navisworks Cache (*.nwc)

  3. Type the name.

  4. Click Save.

    If the exported geometry objects are not meshes, the Mesh Settings dialog appears for mesh conversion.
