Truncated Pyramid

The TruncatedPyramid command draws a pyramid whose apex is truncated by a plane.

Steps

  1. Draw the base polygon.

See the Polygon command for option descriptions.

  2. Pick the end of the truncated pyramid.

Or, type a number to set the height.

A positive number sets the height toward the mouse cursor position. A negative number sets the height opposite to the mouse cursor position.

  3. Specify the radius of the top polygon.

Command-line options

DirectionConstraint

Controls how the direction of the truncated pyramid is defined.

None

The direction is defined by the position of the mouse cursor.

Vertical

Creates a truncated pyramid perpendicular to the construction plane.

AroundCurve

Draws the base polygon perpendicular to a curve.

  • Select a curve and pick the center of the base polygon on the curve and a radius or diameter.

Solid

Fills the base and top with faces to form a closed solid.

BothSides

Creates the truncated pyramid in both directions from the base point.

The specified height is applied to each direction, so the total height is doubled.
