Delete or Backspace

The Delete command:

Removes selected objects from the model.
Removes sub-selected polysurface/mesh/SubD faces to make holes.
Removes sub-selected mesh/SubD vertices, edges, or control points to dissolve the surrounding faces.

The MergeFaces command also dissolves mesh/SubD faces.

Select objects or subobjects.
Press Delete or Backspace.

Use the Undo command to restore accidentally deleted objects.

While the Selection menu is highlighting an object, press Delete or Backspace.

The highlighted object is deleted.
