Chamfer Curves

The Chamfer command creates a line segment between two input curves and trims or extends the curves to meet the line segment.

Steps

  1. Select the first curve near the end for the chamfer.
  2. Select the second curve near the end for the chamfer.

Command-line options

Distances

The distance from the intersection of the curves to the chamfer.

Join

Joins the chamfer line to the input curves.

Trim

Trims the input curves to the chamfer line.

ExtendArcsBy

This option is applied when the input curve is an arc and it needs to extend to meet the chamfer line.

Arc

The arc is extended maintaining its radius.

Line

The arc is extended with a tangent line.

ExtendOtherCurvesBy

This option is applied when the input curve is not a line or an arc, and it needs to extend to meet the chamfer line.

Line

The curve is extended with a tangent line.

Smooth

The curve is extended with curvature continuity.
