SOLIDWORKS (.sldprt/.sldasm) import
SOLIDWORKS is a 3-D mechanical CAD (computer-aided design) program that runs on Microsoft Windows and is being developed by Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS Corp., a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes, S. A. (Vélizy, France).
When opening SOLIDWORKS assembly files, the referenced part files must be in the same folder as the assembly file.
Rhino reads SOLIDWORKS file formats up to version 2024.

To open, import or insert a file
SOLIDWORKS Import Options
Import Parts as blocks
Imports parts of a SOLIDWORKS assembly as linked blocks. When disabled, parts are imported as objects.
Map SOLIDWORKS Y to Rhino Z
Rotates the model on import so that the z direction is up.
Import construction geometry
Imports construction geometry as point objects.
Always use these settings. Do not show this dialog again.
Saves the current settings and turns off the dialog display.
