The Area command reports the area of the supported object types.
Input
- Surface, Polysurface, Mesh, Extrusion
- Hatch
- Closed planar curves
- SubD
- When multiple objects are selected, the accumulated area displays in the command history.

Cumulative area is calculated from all objects in a group unless using Ctrl(CMD)+Shift+click to select group members separately.
- Group members that are hidden or on hidden layers will not be calculated.
Command-line options
Units
Sets the units for the area display.
This option is only available for post-selection.
