The SphereTangentToThreeSurfaces command creates a spherical surface of a given radius tangent to the three selected surfaces.

The command can be used to create the spherical patch that links fillets coming together at a vertex when a sphere is what is needed to make the corner.

It requires that the surfaces are selected relatively close to the points of tangency.

Note

  • There does not always exist such a sphere.
  • The more wiggly a surface, the more important it is that the pick point is close to the solution.
Command-line option

Radius

Changes the radius.

Trim

Yes

The sphere will be trimmed by the arcs defined by the center and adjacent pairs of tangent points. This will create the corner patch between the three fillets of the combinations of the surfaces.

No

The result will be the entire sphere.
