Spiral

The Spiral command draws a spiral curve.

Steps

  1. Pick the start of the spiral axis.
    This is the imaginary line around which the spiral will wind.
  2. Pick the end of the spiral axis.
  3. Pick the first radius and start point of the spiral.
  4. Pick the second radius at the end of the spiral.
Command-line options

Diameter/Radius

Click the option to toggle between picking a Radius and picking a Diameter.

Mode

Displays the setting currently in effect.

Turns

The number of turns takes precedent, the pitch adjusts automatically.

Pitch

The pitch takes precedent, the number of turns adjusts automatically.

Turns

Enter the number of turns. The pitch adjusts automatically. Drag the mouse after changing options to preview.

Pitch

Enter the pitch (distance between turns). The number of turns adjusts automatically. Drag the mouse after changing options to preview.

ReverseTwist

Reverses the direction of the twist to counter-clockwise. Drag the mouse after changing options to preview.

Flat

Draws a planar spiral curve.

Vertical

Draws a spiral curve whose axis is perpendicular to the construction plane.

AroundCurve

 History enabled

Draws a spiral curve around another curve.
