Commands

The Commands preferences opens the Command Editor.

The Command Editor allows editing tool palettes and keyboard shortcuts.

Current command set

Specifies the default or customized command set.

Opens the Command Editor.

Note: The Default command set cannot be edited. it is meant to serve as a sample and a template. You must duplicate the command set to create your own.

To duplicate the command set

4 In the Command Editor window, in the upper left corner, click the Default (read only) menu and from the menu, select Duplicate.

Customizing tool palettes

The Command Editor is divided into five panels. Click through the slide show below to view the parts.

Palette Browser

The Palette Browser contains a list of all of the toolbar palettes in the command set.

Palette Contents

The Palette Contents panel shows the buttons and their commands for the selected Palette.

Button Information

The Button Infomation panel shows the commands associated with the selected button.

Command Button Browser

The Command Button Browser panel lists all the available buttons (in the current palette set) and their associated commands.

Button Editor

The Button Editor panel displays all the settings for the selected command.

To add a new palette

4 Click the plus button.

To delete a palette

4 Click the minus button.

To search the palettes

4 Enter a name in the search box.

To display the contents of the palette in the Palette Contents panel

4 Click a palette name in the Palette Browser list.

The Palette Contents panel displays the buttons contained in the selected palette and their commands for the selected palette.

The drop-down menu specifies that the button links to a menu.

A small downward arrow will appear in the bottom right corner of the button.

Clicking and holding the button for a moment displays the menu.

Note: In the popup menu used by the mouse, assigning a menu replaces the button function and only the menu works.

To display the contents of a button

4 Click a button in the Palette Contents panel.

The the Button Information panel displays the contents of the button.

To add an existing command button to a palette

1. In the Palette Browser, select a palette.
2. From the Command Button Browser, drag a button to the Palette Browser.

To create a new command button in the Palette Browser

1. In the Palette Browser, select a palette.
2. Click the plus button.

A new blank button is added to the palette.

3. Drag a command macro from the Command Button Browser to the left and right mouse button commands for the new button.

To create a new command button

1. In the Command Button Browser, click the plus button.

A new blank button is added to the list.

2. Fill in the information in the Button Editor.

Options

Text

The description of the button in the Command Button browser.

功能表文字

The text that appears when the button is in a drop-down menu from a linked button.

工具提示

The tooltip text that appears when the mouse is hovered over the button.

Keyboard shortcut

Type the keyboard shortcut to use for this command.

設定滑鼠左鍵滑鼠右鍵執行的巨集。

3. To add a custom image to the command button, drag and drop an image from Finder into the icon area.

For best results, images should be 64 x 64 pixels.

To use your new palettes

1. 儲存變更。
2. In the Commands window, set the Current command set to your command set.

Note: Changes to the interface will only appear in new Rhino modeling windows.
