E57 file import

The E57 File Import plug-in for Rhinoceros 5 for Windows will allow you to will allow you to open or import .E57 files. The E57 file format is a compact, vendor-neutral format for storing point clouds, images, and metadata produced by 3‑D imaging systems, such as laser scanners. The file format is specified by the ASTM, an international standards organization, and it is documented in the ASTM E2807 standard.

Import

To open, import, insert, and attach a file as a worksession

  1. From the File menu, click Open, Insert, Import, or Worksession > Attach.

  2. In the dialog box, select a supported file type.
  3. Click Open and configure the settings.
    When you open a non-3dm file and save the model, its filename will be the default 3dm filename.
